Guess where we were today? Several of our members, led by our Young Lawyers Division were spotted at 6:00 am packing appx. 400 Thanksgiving turkey dinner boxes for residents in need. The project, started by Palmetto native Ray Bellamy, occurs each year to provide Thanksgiving meals to those who may not otherwise be able to celebrate. In conjunction with Sheriff Rick Wells, volunteers arrived at Lincoln Middle School at 6:00 am to prepare the meal boxes which included a turkey and all the fixins. It truly was an assembly line and within a few hours, the meals were out being delivered. Our Young Lawyers Division, led by YLD President Patrick Iyampillai of Hale Law - Accident Attorneys and President Elect Chad Manausa of Grimes Galvano Law donated $500 to the cause, of which they applied for, and are waiting on approval, for a grant from The Florida Bar. The event also featured a free legal clinic for the community. WELL DONE, Team Manatee Bar! You truly have blessed so many and we are thankful for you!
